Mandate
In 1984, the SIMPA transformed the former monastery into a multi-service center, bringing together a housing cooperative, a seniors' residence, a concert hall, a daycare and more. On May 25, 2023, a fire broke out in the attic, burning the buiding for three days. Given the extent of the damage, the owners decided to renovate the entire monastery. When the work began, they discovered inconsistencies in the existing plans. A complete update of the plans became essential.

Proposition
To meet all of the client's technical and visual requirements, we inluded the following techniques in our proposal for the complete 3D scanning of the Bon-Pasteur monastery.
LiDAR survey
A LiDAR survey of the building's interior and exterioir, providing high precision, accuracy and density. This initial step makes it possible to create a highly detailed representation of the building in the form of a point cloud.
Photogrammetric survey
A drone-based photogrammetric survey of the roof to capture complex details using hundreds of georeferenced images.
Virtual tour
A high-resolution panoramic virtual tour that meets all of our clients' visual needs while ensuring a coherent and collaborative environment.
Deliverables
To achieve the highest level of realism, the generated point cloud was colorized and set to a density of 5mm intervals, resulting in a clear and detailed final product. This precision made it possible to highlight all deviations during the creation of the floor deformation analyses.
We also produced a complete point cloud, including in hard-to-reach areas such as the spaces between structural components. This approach eliminated blind spots and ensured a full coverage of the building.
