Mandate
The mandate covered the complete and detailed interior 3D scanning of Centre Père-Marquette, specifically the swimming pool area, the gymnasium and the mechanical spaces. The goal was to document existing conditions at a level of detail suitable for a later Revit modelling phase based on a coloured point cloud that can be used by the design team and all other professionals involved in the project.
The mandate also included the delivery of an online virtual tour accessible to all stakeholders, with tools for annotations, precise measurements and free navigation throughout the digitized spaces.

Proposition
Control network via terrestrial LiDAR
A control network is established using high-density terrestrial scan stations positioned strategically throughout the key areas, including the pool, the gymnasium and the connecting corridors. This network creates a stable geometric framework for the LiDAR scanning process, improves spatial consistency across the dataset and supports rigorous alignment of the captured site information.
Mobile LiDAR (SLAM)
Mobile LiDAR scanning using SLAM technology then connects the control points and efficiently fills in the intermediate spaces. This method captures the main architectural elements in detail, including floors, walls, beams and columns, while also documenting the visible equipment within the mechanical rooms, such as piping, ductwork, boilers, tanks and other technical components.
Virtual visit
The virtual walkthrough is generated from the mobile scanning path. A 360° panoramic image is captured every four to five steps in order to create a fluid, detailed and practical navigation experience for coordination, existing-condition review and remote access by the project team.
Deliverables
The deliverables include an accurate and reliable coloured point cloud with a point density of 5 mm, tied to and corrected through the control network.
This point cloud can be linked into Revit and AutoCAD to support as-built documentation, existing-condition modelling and the production of accurate technical drawings.
An online virtual tour is also provided to all professionals and project stakeholders to facilitate access to site information, collaborative annotations and precise measurements directly within the digitized spaces.
